Cibelle & Devendra in Victorian garb dance on the roofs in this Mary Poppins-like illustration of the Caetano Veloso classic (as performed on Cibelle's album "The Shine Of Dried Electric Leaves")Directed by Tom Haines.
The video he made to Werewolves of London. 1978.Might I just add, does anyone else laugh when they see that werewolf? I think the beast is played by Jorge Calderon...
An interesting short film about the legality of taking photographs on the streets in the UK. There's a nice interaction between the photographer and a couple of Police Community Support Officers in Central London. For those who are unfimilar with CSO's, these are not Police Officers, though they are uniformed personnel working with the police in England and Wales. Their function it seems is:'...to provide a visible and reassuring presence on the streets and tackling the menace of anti-social behaviour.'You can draw your own conclusions on that!NB The bit about having to ask for permission before taking photographs in Railway Stations is somewhat misleading as you don't have to have prior permission - not at the moment anywayLink to a letter written by Home Office Minister Tony McNaulty confirming that there are no legal restrictions on taking photographs in public places: http://www.flickr.com/photos/a isawit/2473437441/Here's a link to a recent Guardian article about terrorist not bothering to photograph their 'targets'. http://www.guardian.co.uk/tech ology/2008/jun/05/news.terrorism

The Burble is a massive structure reaching up towards the sky, composed of approximately 1000 extra-large helium balloons each of which contains microcontrollers and LEDs that create spectacular patterns of light across the surface of the structure. The public, both audience and performer, come together to control this immense rippling, glowing, bustling 'Burble' that sways in the evening sky, in response to movements of the long articulated interactive handle bar at the base of the structure. The ephemeral experience exists at such a large scale that it is able to compete visually in an urban context with the buildings that surround it.
